SEE WILD ORANGUTANS IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT AND PLANT TREE TO RESTORE ORANGUTAN HABITAT

Best and easy place to see orangutan in the wild is in Bukit Piton (First Class Protection Forest Reserve), Sabah, Malaysia. We can organize day or one day one night tours from Tabin Lodge to bring you to spot for orangutan. Tabin Lodge work very closely with Department of Forestry to bring tourist into this area. Tabin Lodge staff are very good in spotting wildlife. Last year (2017) our percent spotted Orangutan by tour is 95% Total tours for year 2017 is about 40. Tours that fail to spot any Orangutan is due to very hot whether. The minimum orangutan spotted is 4 per tour and the maximum spotted is 11 per tour (see our Facebook: www.facebook.com/seeorangutaninthewild). Tabin Lodge tours you might sometime see other wildlife such as elephant and birds.

ITINERARY 1 DAY 1 NIGHT    

 1:30 pm – Pick up at Tabin Lodge, Lahad Datu.

2:00 pm – Depart for an hour drive to Bukit Piton (First Class Protection Forest Reserve)

3:00 pm – Evening Safari along a stretch of flat road to see wild orangutan, bird and other wild animal.

6:00 pm – Dinner at Piton Camp.

7.00 pm – Informational talk regarding the wildlife in Borneo.

8:00 pm – Night Safari to see nocturnal wildlife such as bornean slow loris, flying squirrel, moonrat, leopard cat and others.

11:30 pm – Back to Piton Camp and stay over night in the middle  of the jungle and experience the peacefulness of the jungle.

Next Morning

5:00 am – Light Breakfast at the camp.

6.00 am – Morning safari to see Orangutan wake up and ready for the day and see a lot of birds.

7.30 am – Planting trees for Orangutan to support forest restoration in Bukit Piton.

8.00 am – Proper breakfast at a local restaurant.

9:00 am – Back to Tabin Lodge.

Note:

• Please wear shoes and jungle attire. Don’t forget to bring camera, binocular, raincoat, leech socks and insect repellent.

• Tour are inclusive of transportation, breakfast-1, dinner-1, forestry permit fee and guided activities.
